Clinical Professor of Business Law and Ethics

Buie Seawell is in his 14th year as a professor in the Daniels College of Business at The University of Denver. His courses cover business ethics, law, and international business law. Buie was honored in 2003 with the University’s Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award.
Prior to coming to Daniels, Buie was founder and director of the Norwest Public Policy Center and the Mind of Colorado at UCD, and taught in the Graduate School of Public Affairs.
Before that he served as Democratic State Chairman; as chief of staff to U. S. Senator Gary Hart, and in the Lamm Administration, as Colorado Energy Con-servation Director.
Buie is a graduate of Davidson College (AB), Union Theological Seminary (ThM) and the University of Denver College of Law (JD). In 2009 he was a Senior Associate Member of St. Antony’s College, Oxford, on sabbatical. Born in North Carolina, he has made Denver his home since 1971.
